| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
| The qualification aims to provide South Africa with intellectually-independent graduates who are capable of assuming leadership roles in society and the plant sciences by their depth of knowledge, capacity for dealing with complexity, effective motivation of others and by contributing original knowledge that is internationally comparable. |
