PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
This qualification is intended for supervisors and managers in information supplying agencies or services. Persons achieving this qualification will be able to manage library and information resources in the global environment, towards meeting the information requirements in a diverse and changing society. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
At least 360 credits, of which at least 72 credits will be at NQF level 6, in the related fields of knowledge and skills in Librarianship. (i.e. N Dip: Library and Information Studies)

The qualification will be awarded to a learner who has provided evidence to the satisfaction of the assessors that the stated competence of the qualification, as detailed in the specified outcomes, has been achieved, either through education and training in a single provider's learning programme, or through experience that complies with the stated specified outcomes.
