| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
| OPTION 1: CHILD AND YOUTH CARE:
The qualifying learner will have the competence to manage resources, conduct research, provide input in policy-making process to ensure the integration of advanced methodologies in a CYC context. The qualified learner will in future be able to register with the SA Council for Social Service Professions. Currently the qualified person registers with the National Association of Child Care Workers. OPTION 2: YOUTH WORK: The qualifying learner will have the competence to strategically plan and manage the organisation and multi-disciplinary programmes and conduct research within a dynamic policy framework to ensure sustainable development in the youth work environment. This qualification provides entrance to the next qualification level in the field of Child and Youth Development (Option 2: Youth Work). |
