PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION

A person accredited with this qualification can conduct independent research under guidance in a chosen field and contribute to knowledge production in that field. Furthermore he/she is able to work independently within the discipline, either in industry or as an entrepreneur.

The qualification will be awarded to a learner who has provided evidence to the satisfaction of the assessors that the stated competence of the qualification, as detailed in the specified outcomes, has been achieved, either through education and training in a single provider's learning programme, or through experience that complies with the stated specified outcomes

2. Apply and display proficiency and methodology in design and design technology in the creation of original concepts and/or produce (C 42 credits) (NQF 7).

3. Apply and display proficiency in the marketing of products or the transferral of research themes
