PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
The purpose of this qualification is to obtain registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa [HPCSA]

This qualification aims to provide South Africa with diagnostic radiographers to provide and promote health care of the highest standard and continual development of a high level of knowledge and expertise that is comparable with internationally set standards in the field.

A person achieving this qualification will be competent to apply scientific, practical and clinical knowledge, skills and insight to practice independently in the Health Care Team.

Graduates will have comprehensive, in-depth knowledge in the field of radiography and research skills

An attitude of lifelong learning will be fostered, ensuring continuing self-development and development in the field of radiography.
