PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
Purpose:
To provide learners with:
1. Postgraduate-level knowledge of the field of Human Physiology;
2. Well-developed skills to understand and apply the concepts of function, mechanism,
structure-function relationship, interaction, process, and control of physiological systems of the human being;
3. Specialisation in the field of applied Physiology as a basis for further learning;
4. The ability to employ different research techniques and execute an original research project;
5. The ability to critically examine the reliability and validity of research outcomes;
6. The ability to write a dissertation on a research project.
