PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
The purpose of the qualification is to provide qualifiers with post graduate level knowledge, specific skills and applied competence in computer-assisted education.

The second purpose of the qualification is to add to the skills base of University graduates who are practicing computer-assisted education in primary and secondary schools.

The third purpose of the qualification is to train education and training practitioners in a variety of computer-assisted areas e.g. productivity tools in education management and learning programmes
