PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
The first purpose of the qualification is to provide graduates with specialist expertise in the field of Financial Management in order to facilitate and promote financial decision-making of the highest standard and the continual development of a high level of cognitive knowledge, skills and attitudes that is comparable with internationally set standards in the field.

The second purpose of this qualification is to provide South Africa with Financial Management specialist to
  • ensure that the local financial decision-maker base is developed through innovative and knowledge-based empowerment thereby promoting increased wealth creation.
  • transform and redress certain financial realities.

    The third purpose of this qualification is to enable and empower candidates with research skills in order to find solutions for financial management problems.
