PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
Purpose:
An intermediate postgraduate degree to provide qualifiers with graduate-level knowledge in;
1. Economics and statistical analysis and policy application.
2. A sound theoretical base and understanding of various sub-disciplines of Economics.
3. To provide South Africa with theoretically specialised postgraduates with sound economic analytical skills and abilities.
