| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
| The purpose of the coursework qualification is to provide learners with advanced and specialised knowledge and research skills in Speech-Language Pathology that builds on prior graduate - level knowledge and skills, in order to enhance competence in the management of people with communication disorders and their families. In this manner, the qualification promotes the learner's professional development, and enhance the range of possibilities for employment. |

| At the end of the programme students will demonstrate the following advanced levels knowledge and skill:
1) Advanced knowledge with regard to the principles of resource development, and the development, application and evaluation of resources in terms of international and national contexts of audiological practice 2) Indepth knowledge and the application thereof in a specialised area of Audiology pertaining to diagnostic audiology; industrial audiology; advanced studies in deafness or audiological management 3) Knowledge and skill in designing research protocols using qualitative and /or quantitative research methodologies in a specific are of audiologic study In addition the student will demonstrate a professional attitude, embodying principle of confidentiality, ethical practice, and respect for the dignity of all clients as well as a recognition of the need for socially accountable and relevant research. |
| ASSOCIATED ASSESSMENT CRITERIA |
| Integrated assessment.
Throughout programme the learner is exposed to a variety of assessment strategies comprising assignments, a research proposal and short dissertation. The complexity of the tasks will increase according to the level of study, as well as the expected levels of integration and interpretation, and will culminate in the submission of the short dissertation. |
