PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION

The primary purpose of the qualification is to:
1. Address the needs of secondary health care in the area of Medical Physics

2. Provide teaching in Medical physics at a level not possible in undergraduate MBChB study.

This qualification recognises the formal learning which learners who register for the programme leading to the award of the qaulification,bring to the learnign situation:

MBChB or equivalent NQF level 7 degree.

MODERATION OPTIONS

The external assessors will moderate the exit-level outcomes at all levels on a yearly basis. The faculty maintains a list of staff with the necessary specialised knowledge, academic standing, clinical/practical expertise with national standing, from which external assessors will be appointed on a yearly basis.

CRITERIA FOR THE REGISTRATION OF ASSESSORS

All academic staff members of the Faculty of Medicine with the necessary qualifications and experience will be used as internal assessors
