The primary purpose of the qualification is to:
1. Address the needs of secondary health care in the area of Medical Physics

2. Provide teaching in Medical physics at a level not possible in undergraduate MBChB study.

The external assessors will moderate the exit-level outcomes at all levels on a yearly basis. The faculty maintains a list of staff with the necessary specialised knowledge, academic standing, clinical/practical expertise with national standing, from which external assessors will be appointed on a yearly basis. 

CRITERIA FOR THE REGISTRATION OF ASSESSORS 
All academic staff members of the Faculty of Medicine with the necessary qualifications and experience will be used as internal assessors
