| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
| The purpose of this qualification is to provide learners with graduate-level knowledge, specific skills, applied competence and the necessary attitudes in a context that prepares them to be an information systems specialist in a functional department within a business organisation, drawing upon both business and IT subjects.
Rationale for the qualification The increasing need for Information Systems specialists in today's modern world has created a demand for a Bachelor degree which provides specialised instruction and practical experience to prepare graduates for careers as information systems managers, project managers, IT marketers, IT trainers and more.There is a need for people in business who have a grounding in both business and information technologies (IT). |
| LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING |
| It is assumed that learners who register for this qualification can communicate comprehensibly in the medium of instruction, and, with guided support, take responsibility for their own progress.
Formal prior learning, in the form of other tertiary qualifications or undergraduate courses from a recognised university will be credited toward the Bachelor of Information Systems in the School of Business to a maximum of half the degree, in accordance with university regulations. The granting of credit shall be subject to the approval of the dean(s) of the school(s) concerned. Other tertiary qualifications or courses will be assessed on an individual basis. Recognition of prior learning (RPL) Formal prior learning, in the form of other tertiary qualifications or undergraduate courses from a recognised university will be credited toward the Bachelor of Information Systems in the School of Business to a maximum of half the degree, in accordance with university regulations. | MODERATION OPTIONS |
| Lecturers of the courses set and assess assignments and examinations of all Bond SA courses. The quality is moderated by course coordinators and by the head of department. In addition, Bond University, Australia moderates questions and examinations of Bond SA.All lecturers / assessors at Bond SA are highly qualified experts in their specialist fields and hold honours and/or masters degrees in subjects appropriate to their teaching components. In addition, new staff members undergo mentoring and training by senior members of staff. |
