PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
1. To introduce learners to the field of human resource management and to train them in how become good at balancing human needs with corporate needs.
2. To sensitise the learners to the fact that a manager achieves the goals of an organisation through people. 3. To teach learners that to work with Human Resources, is to understand the difficult and ever-changing situation of organisations. 4. To teach the learners how to apply research methodology in their search for answers and in their problem-solving approach. |

1. Ability to understand, analyse and critically assess related Human Resources issues.
2. Ability to manage Human Resources in both the Private and the Public sectors. 3. Ability to become more self-reliant, in that the student might start a business and do consultancy work. Critical cross-field outcomes: To train learners, in combination with other disciplines, like Business Management, Labour Law, Public Administration, etc. as an Entrepreneur/Manager, how to manage Human Resources, within the constraints of Economics and other societal boundaries. |
ASSOCIATED ASSESSMENT CRITERIA |
1. The depth and broader knowledge and understanding is demonstrated of how to render Administration services within the South African context.
2. The legal processes involved in Administration services are identified and analysed. 3. Complete and accurate records are kept of processes undertaken. 4. Administration problems are solved in accordance with best practices. A variety of continuous and cumulative assessment methods, take-home assignments, projects, group and individual work, written and oral examinations which will be utilised to evaluate whether learning outcomes have been attained. |
