PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
Provide training for the Complementary Health profession of Phytotherapy comparable to international standards which will enable graduates to meet the requirements to register with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHP Council)

To equip graduates with the skills to meet primary health care needs in the communities and in private practice in South Africa and to interact with other health care practitioners in a responsible and professional manner

To provide a foundation for continuous life-long learning in the profession and the skills to pursue research within this discipline

BSc degree in Traditional and Complementary Health Sciences or other BSc degrees with appropriate basic pre-clinical sciences e.g. MBChB
