| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
| To accredit an upper-level qualification for researchers in the field of Applied Linguistics/Language Education. It continues and completes a post-graduate programme for academic and occupational purposes. Since it is an academic qualification, the qualification focuses on developing competence that can be applied to rigorously researched issues in applied language studies. |
