PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION

A qualifying learner will make a contribution through research to the application and evaluation of existing knowledge of a specialised area of graphic design in order to further professional growth and personal development.

2. Undertake a project, which embodies original visual work executed within the selected field of specialisation and which applies and demonstrates the findings of the investigation

1. Identify key problems, targets and objectives in the field of specialisation (C - 10 credits) (NQF 7)
Plan and conduct an investigation into aspects relevant to the specialised field using appropriate research methodology (C - 10 credits) (NQF 7)

While South Africa still had Technikons, all of their qualifications were registered under the Committee of Technikon Principals. After the Technikons became Universities of Technology or merged with Universities, the qualifications were registered under each of these institutions, and the CTP qualifications fell away (hence the end date of 2006, above).
