PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
  • Personal development and employability: Learners achieving this qualification will be able to carry out mathematical orientated duties in industry, research, accounting firms, banks, businesses, survey, police, army, actuaries, insurance, education and the financial world.
  • Overall competence demonstrated: A qualified learner possesses sound foundation of mathematics and deep knowledge in a chosen area of mathematics. They made a relevant contribution to mathematics.
  • Relevance: Qualified learners can go into science and technology research, pursue an academic career and have the possibility to assume a leading position in the tertiary education system. But their true calling is to lent their abilities to the mathematical sciences and make relevant contributions in mathematical research
  • Academic/Vocational purpose: Any qualified learner, by virtue of his/her training in logic and exact thinking and by virtue of acquired learning and working skills, will master future challenges through continuous learning and adapting.
