PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION

The aim of the programme is to train students in personnel management jobs in industrial organizations, Public Service and Non government organizations.

The overall assumption prior to admission into the programme is that the student has a BA Honours degree in any of the social sciences and with a minimum average mark of 60%

1. Upon completion of the programme the student must have developed managerial skills to be able to run various business and public organizations.

2. The student must have also developed skills for negotiation and mediation over conflict situation.

ASSOCIATED ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

Integrated assessment

1. Methods of assessment consist of term papers, research project. Oral presentation and at least a three hour written examination in four courses.

ARTICULATION OPTIONS

The programme is equated to other programmes offered at similar levels in South African tertiary institutions.

MODERATION OPTIONS

Use of internal examiners and external examiners appointed by the University of Zululand

CRITERIA FOR THE REGISTRATION OF ASSESSORS

Assessors are identified and selected by the faculty and the University Senate.
