| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
| To provide South Africa and Africa with a significant number of graduates with specialized knowledge, research skills and applied competence in advanced and highly technological non-destructive testing/ evaluation methods to the industry and research institutions.

| Vertical:
A person with a MSc in Applied Radiation Science and Technology Qualification will be able to pursue a PHD in specific area of specialization. Horizontal: A person can exit to the market place such as Nuclear Science Industry or academic and research institutions. |
| MODERATION OPTIONS |
| Internal assessors will moderate all assessments. The program and qualification will be reviewed periodically by an external assessor appointed by Senate of the University. The review will include teaching and learning methodologies, assessment practices and the continued fitness of the program and qualification. |

| University of North West staff will be utilized as assessors in accordance with the quality assurance and promotion system of the University. |
