PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
Apply educational knowledge, skills, principles and methods to exercise management and law skills required for legal advice in the business and corporate sectors as a legal adviser.
Qualifiers will demonstrate knowledge, skills and applied competence in the field of study that provide opportunities for continued personal growth, gainful economic activity and rewarding contributions to society. |

The planned combination of learning outcomes are integrated with critical cross-field outcomes for this Qualification:
Practical Competency The demonstrated ability/skill to achieve the major Skills/Applied Competency of the qualification. Foundational Competency The demonstrated understanding, by the Learner, of the embedded knowledge that underpins the end result/outcome. Reflective Competency The demonstrated ability/skill to integrate or connect our performances and to reflect on, evaluate and adopt the above competencies. To successfully complete the qualification the learner will have to demonstrate his/her learning via module specific learning outcomes as well as critical cross-field learning outcomes. Module specific outcomes will include capabilities relating to module knowledge and the understanding thereof within a management leadership context and capabilities relating to integrated knowledge and skills from a variety of disciplines within the management leadership field. Critical cross-field outcomes will include those specified in the learning outcomes for approved modules in the certificate and as appropriate to the learner's field of practice. 1. Demonstrating and applying practical and theoretical knowledge of micro and macroeconomy. 2. Analysing economic policy making. 3. Integrating and applying marketing and financial management principles. 4. Analysing the financial statements of different enterprises. 5. Demonstrating and understanding of the importance of business management and financial planning in legal practices. 6. Demonstrating theoretical and practical knowledge of property law. 7. Applying practical and theoretical knowledge of the general principles of delict law and labour law. 8. Demonstrating practical and theoretical knowledge of the basic principles of entrepreneurial law. The learner will be able to analyse and apply the basic principles relevant to the following: 1. Apply the principles of supply and demand. 2. Analyse the application of different economic policies: 3. Formulate and implement suitable business and marketing strategies. 4. Compile a budget financial plan and a business plan. 5. Analyse and apply the principles applicable in formulating and providing limited legal advice in the area of property law. 6. Formulate and compose limited legal advice on delictual liability, possible remedies and the determination and calculation of damages. 7. Identify and analyse labour law problems. 8. Apply legal skills in the area of labour law to resolve labour disputes. 9. Identify and evaluate problem and misconceptions in the field of entrepreneurial law. 10. Communicate legal procedures and negotiate with regard to labour problems at middle management level. |
ASSOCIATED ASSESSMENT CRITERIA |
A learner should provide evidence of learning competency (knowledge, skills and attitude) by means of the following:
1. A written report on current law including legislation and decisions of the courts in the different fields of law. 2. Administrative business, marketing and financial plans according to set standards. 3. Wills and accounts drafted according to set standards. 4. Basic contracts drafted.
