Exit level outcomes
The candidate will be capable of providing a specialised service within the scope of practice of pharmacists, be in a position of a leader in the specialised pharmaceutical field or pharmacy and be able to apply research methodology and solving problems by:
Conducting independent research and development in the specialised field;
Utilising skills of the specialised field;
Having specialised knowledge of the specialty;
Applying concepts of the specialty;
Identifying of particular research problem, articulate the goals of the research clearly and follow or specific procedure in solving a problem;
Writing a research protocol;
Demonstrating the ability to collect and analyse information in order to undertake effective research;
Demonstrating the ability to interpret data in attempting to resolve the problem that initiated the research;
Having basic knowledge of statistical analysis of data;
Providing evidence of communicating skills in writing reports and / or publications and oral presentation of the research.
Specific outcomes
1. Community pharmacy
The candidate will be capable of providing a specialised community service within the scope of practice of pharmacists, be in the position of leader in the community pharmacy and functions of the profession and apply research methodology by:
Applying the principles of advanced pharmacy management in practice;
Utilising communication skills and adapting to different cultural contexts;
Having specialised knowledge of professional aspects pertaining to community pharmacy;
Applying the concepts of advanced pharmaco-therapy in practice;
Utilising specialised knowledge of Pharmaceutical healthcare;
Applying research methodology as described in "Exit level outcomes".
2. Hospital pharmacy
The candidate will be capable of:
Providing a specialised service within the scope of practise of a hospital Pharmacist, being a leader in the Hospital Pharmacy environment, functions of the profession and apply research methodology by:
Conducting independent research and development in the field of hospital pharmacy;
Utilising specialised skills of hospital pharmacy management;
Obtaining specialised knowledge of hospital pharmaceutical services;
Obtaining specialised knowledge of advance pharmacology;
Applying research methodology as described in "Exit level outcomes".
3. Industrial pharmacy
The candidate will be capable of management of industrial pharmaceutical applications, manufacturing and compounding of pharmaceuticals, distributing of pharmaceuticals and applying research technology and methodology by:
Applying management skills related to industrial pharmacy;
Pre-formulation of pharmaceuticals;
Development of new products;
Quality control of pharmaceuticals in the industry;
Manage the production in the pharmaceutical industry.

4. Clinical pharmacy
The candidate will be capable of the management of a clinical pharmacy practice in which a health speciality is being operated which embodies the application, by pharmacists, of the scientific principles of pharmacology,
toxicology, pharmaco-kinetics, and therapeutics to the care of patients. |
