| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
| 1. To prepare professionals for playing leadership roles in the improvement of the lives of communities and evaluation of health and health care through research.
2. To equip students with broad insights into the many facets of Environmental Health, and other disciplines impacting on Environmental Health. 3. To understand Environmental Health, Environmental Health problems and measures to address these problems and to promote and maintain health. 4. Broadly understand a core discipline of Environmental health and draw on the expertise within this discipline in identifying and solving environmental health problems. 5. To identify the central issues, essential scientific components and strategies for control of the major environmental risks to health posed by humans and human activities to the environmental, in both industrialised and developing societies. 6. To develop a systematic approach to the assessment of risk and setting of priorities for and management of risks associated with the intervention between humans and the environment. |
