EXIT LEVEL OUTCOMES
* The diplomate is competent to identify and solve translation problems in a wide area of application.
* The diplomate is competent to recognise the moral and ethical responsibilities attached to translation and is willing to accept the responsibilities attached to and stemming from this awareness.
* The diplomate has the skills to transform these competencies into constructive active participation in the market place.
* The diplomate has the competence and skills to apply his/her education and training to a vast number of employment fields in both the public and private sector.

Specify critical cross-field outcomes:

The contents and structure of this qualification are geared towards equipping the diplomate with excellent communication skills, which will make heavy demands of his/her cultural and aesthetic understanding. Through this training he or she will become aware of the importance to work as a member of a translation team when their is such a demand, but generally the translator has to except sole responsibility and be strongly disciplined to meet deadlines. Without technological and environmental literacy the translator cannot hope to operate in a global community. Through language and the respect for language the translator realises the importance of nation-building and cross-cultural interaction.
Translation requires instant problem-solving skills, and the ability to engross oneself in research in respect of material being presented in court.
Realising this potential, the diplomate no doubt acquires employment-seeking skills and will appreciate the possibilities being offered for self-employment and entrepreneurship, also in a global context.
