| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
| 1. To provide learners with an indepth knowledge in the basic subfields in International Relations such as: International Relations Theory, International Organisations, International Law, International Political Economy, Foreign Policy Analysis, African International Relations, Political Science Research Methodology.
2. To lay the basis for further training in international relations which is more career orientated. 3. To enable students to acquire knowledge in political research methodology, theories and techniques in research projects. 4. To provide students with specialised theoretical knowledge and experience as well as analytical and technical skills in international relations. 5. To equip students with the necessary political and economic knowledge in the conduct and operation of international relations. |
