| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
| This programme is aimed at students who have shown satisfactory ability to acquire a higher academic qualification. The programme is intended to enable students on a reasonably specialised terrain, as it regards the study field of language and literature, to make a contribution out of a combination of existing theories and principles in the form of a dissertation. The students should show that theory and rpactice supplement each other. |

A combination of competencies on the terrain of the Setswana language and/or literature which gives a comprehensive indication of acquired competencies, values and relations and which show a critical evaluative capacity to braoden existing theories, to integrate and apply text justification. Specified Outcomes: 1. The student is able to work with the existing information and documentation with and regard to Setswana language and literature. 2. The learner is able to work on acquired information and documentation to systematise and integrate. 3. The learner is in a position to present a scientific argument concerning a subject from the field of Setswana language and/or literature which evaluates existing theories with the help of texts. |
