PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION
This qualification is geared for equipping beneficiaries with more intensive studies of the Setswana language. Unlike at the B. A. Honours level, here the studies will prepare participants towards more specialisation. In order to achieve this the recipient will be exposed to the most modern and contemporary methods and theories applicable to the ever changing needs and life styles of S. A. communities and the southern region as well.

In the first year focus will be on literary approaches, research methodologies, languages studies, prose fiction, drama and poetry -in the more intensive and extensive manner; thereby ensuring that they have been placed on a solid ground before embarking on specialised aspects by way of research. Participants will emerge with a qualification enabling them to evaluate and research satisfactorily. Some may even end up producing quality materials, creative and language works.
