PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
The purpose of this qualification is to provide qualifiers with integrated skills that build on prior graduate-level knowledge, specific skills and applied competence in a specific theological discipline in such a way that a high degree of further growth in theological skills and competence can readily take place.
The second purpose of the qualification is to add to the skills base of university graduates, especially pastors, who need specialised knowledge and/or skills in their ministry.
