| * To provide students with broad knowledge of aspects/problems of two or more disciplines or sub disciplines in the humanities (including the social sciences) and their methodology within a matrix of multi or interdisciplinary:

A broad knowledge and a grasp of basic methodology of disciplines or sub disciplines relevant to a particular cluster of phenomena or a variety of professions. 2. A range of professional skills related to the relevant disciplines or sub disciplines and/or professions. |
| ASSOCIATED ASSESSMENT CRITERIA |
| 1. The assessment used for the Bphil ensures that the purpose of the qualification has been achieved.
2. A range of formative and summative assessment methods such as written assignments and essays, oral and group presentations, written and oral examinations is used. 3. The required range of modalities is used integrative to assess whether the specified outcomes have been achieved. 4. From the assessment of samples, generalising to a domain takes place in a judicious and planned way in order to ensure reliability. 5. The assessment used meets the standard and level of achievement for NQF level 7. Integrated Assessment: Integrated assessment is accomplished in the following ways: 1. One or more major assignments and/or research essays assess the student's ability to integrate knowledge, competencies and skills acquired in the modules of the various programmes; 2. An internship (in the case of professional training) is used for assessing the student's ability to function competently in a professional environment. |
