| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
| To provide students with advanced knowledge and skills about advanced aspects of the accounting sciences (including financial accountancy, taxation and management accounting), thus equipping them for a career in accounting and management areas of the private and public sectors where their participation will promote sustainable growth and development, and maximise prosperity in all sectors of the economy and society
To develop competent leaders in the various fields of accounting and management, possessing applied fundamental and generic cross functional technical knowledge and skills, enabling them to steer sustainable development, growth and prosperity in the most appropriate direction To provide students who would like to proceed to further post-graduate studies in the accounting sciences with initial research skills and a sound academic base from which to do so |

2. A range of formative and summative assessment methods such as simulations, computer assignments, workplace assessments, written and oral presentations and examinations are used 3.
