PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION

The first purpose of this qualification is to provide qualifiers with graduate-level (level 6 knowledge, specific skills and applied competence in the field of Soil Science, that provide for continued personal intellectual growth, gainful economic activity and rewarding contributions to society.

The second purpose of this qualification is to provide Southern Africa with Soil Scientists, who will have a clear understanding of soil, based on the sound knowledge and understanding of mathematics, physics and chemistry.

In line with the requirements set by the University of Pretoria, a degree, which is one degree higher than that for which the candidate is enrolled

Career experience required:
Research, consulting, extension, management and teaching experience in Soil Science.
