Purpose:
The purpose of Occupational Certificate: Energy Kinesiology Practitioner is to prepare a learner to operate as an Energy Kinesiology Practitioner. The part-qualification will encourage and build a community of Energy Kinesiology practitioners and teachers who offer professional; quality wellness care; through well-structured, applied quality education aligned with international best practice. A qualified learner will be able to: Rationale: This part-qualification will encourage and build a community of practitioners and teachers who offer cost-efficient quality wellness care; through well-structured, applied quality education aligned with international best practice. This approach to up-skilling and re-skilling South African healers and new entrants. This will elevate the industry and encourage skills transferability in the public and private sectors. The outcome of this is recognition, legitimacy, and collaboration of the industry. This will uplift service delivery from natural energy healers and academics, which will encourage overall empowerment, upliftment, and financial success. In the social context, this ratification, of a previously fragmented industry brings wellness options to communities and individuals, encouraging them to take accountability for their wellbeing with the support of trained, skilled, and dedicated practitioners at all levels. The minimum number of credits is attributed to the content, complexity, and nature of training, which still exceeds the average international duration for the same training course. |

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):
RPL for Access to the External Integrated Summative Assessment Accredited providers and approved workplaces must apply the internal assessment criteria specified in the related curriculum document to establish and confirm prior learning. This shall be applied through institutional RPL policy in line with QCTO and SAQA's RPL and Assessment policies. Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 1:
Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 2: Integrated Assessment: Integrated Formative Assessment The skills development provider will use the curriculum to guide them on the stipulated internal assessment criteria and weighting. They will also apply the scope of practical skills and applied knowledge as stipulated by the internal assessment criteria. Formative assessment will be conducted through written, oral, practical assessment and portfolio of evidence. Short exercises, assignments, projects, investigations, oral presentations, observation checklists, case studies and tests concluded by internal examinations shall be used for Integrated Formative Assessment. This formative assessment leads to entrance into the External Integrated Integrated Summative Assessment An external integrated summative assessment, conducted through the relevant QCTO Assessment Quality Partner is required for the issuing of this qualification. The external integrated summative assessment will focus on the exit level outcomes and associated assessment criteria. This shall be conducted in the form of an examination. |
INTERNATIONAL COMPARABILITY |
The South African part-qualification was compared to qualifications from the two countries, the United Kingdom and Australia.
United Kingdom: The Academy of Systematic Kinesiology offers a Kinesiology Practitioner Course that covers the following: Module 1- Food Sensitivities and Allergies. A most reliable method of assessment. With this module under your belt, you will be confident in finding food sensitivities and giving dietary advice to help get people back to vibrant health. Module 2- The Ileocecal Valve (ICV) Syndrome. The Ileocecal valve and the Houston valve have a huge part in lowering general health when malfunctioning. You will learn how to detect and fix the answer to many people's health problems. Learn about ICV syndrome, which can solve chronic TATT & IBS symptoms. Module 3- The Immune System - Long term health by defeating free radicals. When you know how to address, build and boost the Immune System (everyone's have different requirements) people's feelings of being run down, frequent infections, tired all the time, feeling below par, etc will ebb away. This emotional module will equip you to help others (and yourself) resolve traumas both past and present. Emotions are often ignored or buried which can be just as congested as eating junk food. Learn how to release negative traumas/emotions/habits, reprogram the brain positively and then to set your work tapping into the unconscious mind to hold the changes in place. Module 6- Electro-Magnetics, Aura, Chakras - the body's electrics. Learn how important and real our energies are - how they are affected and ways to bring them back into a harmonious state of balance. Learn how to keep grounded and centred. Module 7- Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ) and Structure. The Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ) is responsible for many imbalances around the body. We look into and learn how this can affect people detrimentally. This structural technique will enable you to change the way people feel instantly. Module 8- Necks and Shoulders - the Diamond Approach. Learn how to detect and correct short- or long-term neck and back problems. Module 9- Low Back - Pelvis. A very high percentage of people suffer and live with lower back pain for no apparent reason. Learn how to deal with this problem from an M.C.P.E. viewpoint, and rid people of their pain. Review, Practice, workshop. Module 10- Clinic Practice demo and Review. Australia: For qualifications in Kinesiology is registered on the Australian Qualifications Framework as follows: HLT 42812: Certificate IV in Kinesiology A list of units of learning focusing on generalised learning areas establish the core in the qualification, including: Work effectively with others; Confirm physical health status; Communicate effectively with clients; Administer a practice; Make referrals to other health care professionals when appropriate; Use specific health terminology to communicate effectively; Apply first aid; Communicate and work effectively in health; Comply with infection control policies and procedures; and Contribute to WHS processes. Several kinesiology specific units are included in the elective units: HLT 52415: Diploma of Kinesiology The Diploma focuses on a range of units related to business practices as well as more advanced studies in Kinesiology as follows: Market the small business; Undertake small business planning; Monitor and manage small business operations; Manage small business finances; Develop kinesiology practice; Reflect on and improve own professional practice; Provide first aid; Work with diverse people; Establish and manage client relationships; Manage legal and ethical compliance; Facilitate the empowerment of older people; Address the needs of people with chronic disease; Facilitate the empowerment of people with disability; Work with people with mental health issues; Research and apply evidence to practice; Develop and maintain networks and collaborative partnerships; Analyse and respond to client health information; Interpret and use information about nutrition and diet; Manage the prevention and control of infection; Conduct indicator muscle monitoring; Perform kinesiology assessments; Provide kinesiology balances; Monitor and evaluate client progress; Manage work health and safety; and Recommend health and nutritional products. Conclusion: The Kinesiology modality included in this qualification is comparable with the Australian certificate as well as some units covered in the Diploma. The scope and content are aimed at addressing the unique requirements for professionalising the Kinesiology practice in South Africa. |
