PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
Purpose:
The purpose of Occupational Certificate: Metaphysics Practitioner is to prepare a learner to operate as a Metaphysics Practitioner. This part-qualification will encourage and build a community of Metaphysics teachers and practitioners who offer professional; quality care; through well-structured, applied quality education aligned with international best practice.

A qualified learner will be able to:
  • Establish and maintain Metaphysics healing services in a public or private context.
  • Conduct client consultation and record-keeping in a public or private energy healing service context.
  • Facilitate a process of client wellbeing through applying energy healing modalities.

    Rationale:
    This part-qualification will encourage and build a community of practitioners and teachers who offer cost-efficient quality wellness care; through well-structured, applied quality education aligned with international best practice. This approach to up-skilling and re-skilling South African Metaphysics Practitioner/Healers and new learners. This will elevate the industry as a whole and encourage skills transferability in the public and private sectors.

    The outcome of this is recognition, legitimacy, and collaboration of this industry. This will uplift service delivery from natural energy healers and academies, which encourage overall empowerment, upliftment and financial success.

    In the social context, this ratification, of a previously fragmented industry brings wellness options to communities and individuals, encouraging them to take accountability for their wellbeing with the support of trained, skilled and dedicated practitioners at all levels. The minimum number of credits is attributed to the content, complexity and nature of training, which still exceeds the average international duration for the same training course. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):
    RPL for Access to the External Integrated Summative Assessment
    Accredited providers and approved workplaces must apply the internal assessment criteria specified in the related curriculum document to establish and confirm prior learning. Accredited providers and workplaces must confirm prior learning by issuing a statement of result or certifying a work experience record. This shall be applied through institutional RPL policy in line with QCTO and SAQA's RPL and Assessment policies.

    RPL for Access to the Qualification
    Accredited providers and approved workplaces may recognise prior learning against the relevant access requirements. This shall be applied through institutional RPL policy in line with QCTO and SAQA's RPL and Assessment policies. Credit Accumulation and Transfer policies shall apply as contained in the institution's policies.

  • Release trapped energy, align, and unify energy flow, restoring balance, apply to the ground and bringing harmony into the body.
  • Direct the client towards the structuring of a sense of wellbeing as part of a process of lifelong learning and growth.
  • Provide a support structure, mentorship, and networking to enable the client to secure a base and framework from which mind-shifts, the wisdom behind limited understanding, transformation and growth can reach full potential.
  • Create a space conducive to effectively conduct and facilitate a metaphysical session following industry protocol.
  • Create self-awareness by applying metaphysical principles within the context of consciously preparing oneself and the space for a metaphysical session.
  • Activate the energy body of the Metaphysical Practitioner (MP), ground and bring into harmony by uniting the physical body, mental body, emotional body, and spiritual body into the soul existence of the present moment.
  • Create awareness that energy shifts can be facilitated during the support session.
  • Bring the nature of universal laws into awareness and apply the correct metaphysical technique.
  • Apply the codes of conduct within the legal framework and implications of a metaphysical practitioner.
  • Explain, compare and apply the basic principles of metaphysical support in a relaxed yet informative manner to the client, in recognition/coherence with the client's pre-knowledge, previous experience and exposure to applied metaphysics as well as general principles relating to the specific metaphysical technique session in progress.
  • Make and set the client at ease, such that during energy shifts and alignments, conscious, subconscious or unconscious abreactions might occur and not to resist or analyse such occurrences other than just allowing the action to happen.
  • Discuss and provide feedback on the transformation process that requires commitment and cooperation during the session is to the client.
  • Clarify expectations with specific emphasis on not creating disappointment or predetermined outcome of the session.
  • Create non-expectation as the ideal point of departure from a space of non-judgement.
  • Identify and analyse the probable root cause of the current block of energy, recurrent pattern, unhappiness, discomfort, or disease by asking appropriate questions in guidance of knowledge, applying appropriate metaphysical tools or intuitive perception.
  • Apply knowledge of typical/probable/potential contraindications.
  • Discuss and conclude the preparatory part of the session by emphasising the ownership the client brings into the process.

    Integrated Assessment:
    Integrated Formative Assessment
    The skills development provider will use the curriculum to guide them on the stipulated internal assessment criteria and weighting. They will also apply the scope of practical skills and applied knowledge as stipulated by the internal assessment criteria. Formative assessment will be conducted through written, oral, practical assessment and portfolio of evidence. Short exercises, assignments, projects, investigations, oral presentations, observation checklists, case studies and tests concluded by internal examinations shall be used for Integrated Formative Assessment. This formative assessment leads to entrance into the External Integrated Summative Assessment.

    Integrated Summative Assessment
    An external integrated summative assessment, conducted through the relevant QCTO Assessment Quality Partner is required for the issuing of this qualification. The external integrated summative assessment will focus on the exit level outcomes and associated assessment criteria. This shall be conducted in the form of an examination. 

  • INTERNATIONAL COMPARABILITY 
    The South African part-qualification was compared with qualifications from two countries, viz. New Zealand and Britain.

    New Zealand:
