PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
Purpose:
The purpose of the Occupational Certificate: Natural Energy Healing Practitioner is to prepare a learner to operate as a Natural Energy Healing Practitioner. Natural Energy Healing Practitioners practice natural energy management and flow principles to provide support and facilitate the process of holistic client wellbeing. A qualified learner will be able to: Rationale: The qualification with specialist parts (unique modalities) will encourage and build a community of practitioners and teachers who offer cost-efficient quality wellness care; through well-structured, applied quality education aligned with international best practices. This approach to up-skilling and re-skilling South African natural energy healers and new entrants. This will elevate the industry as a whole and encourage multi-skilling and skills transferability in the public and private sectors. The outcome of this is recognition, legitimacy, and collaboration of this industry, which will uplift service delivery from natural energy healers and academics and will encourage overall empowerment, upliftment, and financial success. In the social context, this ratification, of a previously fragmented industry brings wellness options to communities and individuals, encouraging them to take accountability for their wellbeing with the support of trained, skilled, and dedicated practitioners at all levels. |

They will also apply the scope of practical skills and applied knowledge as stipulated by the internal assessment criteria. Formative assessment will be conducted through written, oral, practical assessment and portfolio of evidence. Short exercises, assignments, projects, investigations, oral presentations, observation checklists, case studies and tests concluded by internal examinations shall be used for Integrated Formative Assessment. This formative assessment leads to entrance into the External Integrated Summative Assessment. Integrated Summative Assessment An external integrated summative assessment, conducted through the relevant QCTO Assessment Quality Partner is required for the issuing of this qualification. The external integrated summative assessment will focus on the exit level outcomes and associated assessment criteria. This shall be conducted in the form of an examination. |
INTERNATIONAL COMPARABILITY |
The South African qualification was compared to qualifications in two countries, viz. The United Kingdom (UK) and Australia, which cover most of the modalities included in the qualification. The international standard by The International BodyTalk Association was also used.
United Kingdom: The UK Reiki Federation provides support and guidance to Reiki Professionals and the public, with reference to education and training, and the public practice of Reiki. The UK Reiki Federation has worked extensively on promoting Reiki and best practice following the Occupational Standards for Reiki. These standards cover the following competencies: The Affiliation of Crystal Healing Organisations (ACHO) promote training and competence in crystal healing therapy and act as a nationally recognised representative body for crystal healing in the United Kingdom. The ACHO established the following competencies as the national standards for training of Crystal Healers, as follows: Crystal Formation, Crystal Properties and Acquisition, Curriculum Crystals, Title: Choosing Crystals, Cleansing Crystals, Linking with Crystals, Chakra Theory, Crystals and Chakras, Crystals and the Subtle Bodies, Meridians, Crystals and Meridians, Crystals and The Aura, The Crystal Healing Session, Crystals for Healing, Further Work with Crystals, Energy Management, Healing Management, Relaxation and Visualisation, Client Management.
