| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
| Purpose:
Purpose of the qualification would be to practice urology independently. The qualification would provide the learner with insight to solving urological problems. Rationale: The need for the qualification will be to certify individuals have spent time in training to allow them to practice in urology. The qualification meets the specific urological needs focusing on the complexities of the urogenital system. The learner should be a post-basic medical qualification holder; post community service medical officer and they would be operating in the urological space which introduces the individual to all aspect urologically related. The pathway includes completion of anatomy, physiology and pathology, completion of ICU and general surgical (intermediate) and the finals would entail 3 - 4years of Urology before the final examination and dissertation. Society would receive urological skill which is scarce, and the economy would benefit from earning of the learner as a specialist; would help the economically active members of society to plough back into the fiscus from their healthy body perspective. The qualification will give recognition to the urological societies of the number of qualified specialist in the society from a development perspective and to give a career path of learners the recognised freedom in urology. The learner would hold a post-graduation qualification and would be able to practice in the field of urology. |

Integrated Assessment: Formative would be the four (4) steps to reaching satisfactory levels, i.e. Primaries/ Intermediate/Final including dissertation; it's mainly academic examination plus the addition of dissertation; ward rounds; outpatient learning; theatre exposure including operations. > Special operative courses, e.g. Laser usage. > Physiology, Anatomy, Embryology. > In clinic tutorial. > Main Academic Meetings. > Paediatric operative. > Urology Webinar with other national and international academic centres. > Grand Round. |
