PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
The primary purpose of this qualification is to provide qualifying learners with applied competencies in the mastering, analysis, interpretation, understanding and application of economic principles and methods, in relation to the related and relevant disciplines.
This qualification will prepare learners to reflect on their own economic applications to assess the effect thereof in the holistic context of Economics and Econometrics as a social science within their everyday lives. Lastly, it will prepare them for further study in Economics and Econometrics as a science. |

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):
Recognition of Prior Learning in the case of learners not complying with the formal entry requirements will be conducted in accordance with the policy and guidelines of the institution concerning the recognition of other forms of formal, informal and non-formal learning and experience. A minimum mark of 40% per module is required for entry into summative assessments. Self-assessment: Learners will also need to complete written and practical assignments and answer questions which they will then self-assess on the basis of model answers given. Summative assessment practices that will be implemented: Integrated assessment, focusing on the achievement of the exit-level outcomes, will be done by means of written and/or practical (computerised) 3:hour examinations. Final marks will be calculated based on the average of each module's test and exam mark. |
