| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
| Purpose:
The qualification's overall aim to provide learners with an integrated approach to the wide world of business and commerce and the specific purpose is to avail learners with applied competencies in the understanding of logistics in order to enable them to curve for themselves a career in any branch of the logistics sector. This will be achieved by exposing learners to theoretical and practical skills, providing sufficient disciplinary content and theoretical depth. Rationale: The rationale for the qualification is to provide qualifying learners with applied competencies in the understanding of logistics, purchasing and supply chain management in preparation for a career in the logistics/purchasing field. The leaner should be able to reflect on the study material in the context of a logistics organisation, purchasing function of a company and positively impact the logistics sector in South Africa and abroad. |

| Exit Level Outcomes and the Associated Assessment Criteria:
The learner must complete all projects and pass all exams. The leaner must demonstrate an ability to identify and solve problems and above all demonstrate critical and creative thinking about logistics management. The learner should demonstrate the ability to formulate a research proposal, undertake independent research work and draw appropriate conclusions on a relevant topic. |
