| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
| The first purpose of the qualification is to provide learners without university exemption the possibility of tertiary theological training, also a s stepping stone for graduate studies.
The second purpose is to provide qualifiers with the basic knowledge, specific skills and applied competence in the essential field of theological science. It will provide the basis for continued personal intellectual growth as well as an informed lay leadership in the faith communities and society. The third purpose of the qualification is to provide the churches of the country with significant numbers of theologically trained people qualified for further church specific training and/or induction into the ministry of the gospel. |
