PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
The purpose of the qualification is to prepare students at an advance level for a management and planning career in rural areas. This course targets specifically those that have to operate at policy and operational level in institutions dealing with the socio-economic problems of developing areas.

The purpose of the qualification is to supply the country with qualified people to work in the rural areas to manage programmes and projects to alleviate rural poverty. This is one of the challenges. This qualification is an attempt to make a contribution to this challenge.

Graduates will cover a wide range of courses providing them with knowledge and skills at more depth than at the under-graduate level.
