This programme is designed to provide students who wish to pursue advanced independent research in Sport and Exercise Science with the necessary in-depth knowledge and research.

Entry Requirements:
Learners in possession of an Honours Degree in Human Movement Studies or Sport Science may enrol for the Degree. In exceptional cases, students who do not have an Honours Degree in Human Movement Studies or Sport Science, but have an Honours Degree in a related discipline, and have professional experience in a Human Movement Studies or Sport Science domain, may enrol for the course.

Graduates should be able to demonstrate the ability to:
1. Interpret, analyse and contextualise research findings in the sub-disciplines of Sport and Exercise Science.
2. Understand and apply the theoretical foundations of the various sub-disciplines of Sport and Exercise Science.
3. Understand and apply the methodological frameworks that are most appropriate to doing research in the various sub-disciplines of Sport and Exercise Science.
4. Develop and present a research proposal independently.
5. Employ critical thinking skills during debates regarding Sport and Exercise Science subject matter.
6. Read and examine professional and academic texts with insight.
