All Intermediate Phase teachers must have both discipline and pedagogical knowledge, and know how to support learning in this context. A number of international providers offer a Bachelor of Education (B Ed) in middle school teaching, similar to the South African intermediate phase teaching, and using a similar approach and methodology.
The Bachelor of Education (Primary and Middle School) offered by Mandhu College in the Maldives equips learners with a thorough understanding of modern psychology, learning theories, educational sociology and teaches and develops teaching methods. Learners examine curriculum organisation and assessment and study a subject area in depth to enable them to use it as their teaching base. |
