  • INTERNATIONAL COMPARABILITY
There are similar international qualifications, but individual institutions have unique offerings which may or may not articulate with this qualification entirely. There is undoubtedly synergy in courses with variations ranging from slight to extreme synergy-depending on the institution.
Internationally, although there are stand-alone qualifications in Logistics, most are offered as conversion courses through business, engineering and urban planning departments of colleges and universities.
The Swinburne University of Technology in Australia offers a Diploma of Logistics which is a general qualification for the integrated management of logistics operations. This qualification prepares learners to responsibly manage varied functions in the broad area of logistics, including freight, supply chains, transport, inventory, procurement, warehousing and other areas. Learners learn to plan and select appropriate equipment, services and techniques to manage this area, and to carry out higher-level strategic planning. The purpose and outcomes of the qualification compare favourably with the institution's qualification. The duration of the qualification is one year full-time which differs from the qualification offered by the institution which is three years full-time.
