PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The purpose of this Unit Standard is to enable construction plasterers to set out their work, prepare all types of surfaces for plastering, and to mix plaster, screed and grano. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
FETC NQF Level 2 literacy and numeracy competencies. 

UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
1. Materials include sand, cementitious materials, lime, bonding agents, additives, water, etc.

2. Surfaces form part of or constitute entire walls, ceilings, floors, beams, columns, door and window openings, etc.

3. Protruding objects or contaminating agents are removed, scraped, chipped, etc.

4. Tools include steel and wood floats, trowels, wheelbarrows, buckets, mortar boards, hammers, spirit levels, plumb bobs, squares, screeding bar, nylon line, dumpy level, etc.

UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
Assessment of learner achievements takes place at providers accredited by CETA (RSA, 1998b) for the provision of programs that result in the outcomes specified. CETA is responsible for moderation of learner achievements of learners who meet the requirements of this unit standard.
