PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is aimed at individuals involved in the presentation of team building programmes and recreational activities to focus on task processes in the Adventure-based Learning environment. This standard will in particular enable the qualified learner to select and sequence suitable adventure activities and/or recreational game activities to assist in team building and which accommodate the needs of individuals through the inclusion of personal and team development strategies.

Persons credited with this unit standard will be able to:
  • Explain the theory of team building as it applies to Adventure-based learning.
  • Design a team-building programme according to identified needs.
  • Implement the programme to facilitate team building.
  • Evaluate the programme and follow up according to organisational requirements.

  • An individual wishing to be assessed (including through RPL) against this unit standard may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant ETQA. Anyone assessing a learner against this unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA.
