PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The learner credited with this unit standard is able to go through the processes of planning and administrating the core functions and operations of a trade union. It will enable the learner to conduct the activities in such a way as to enhance the professional image of the trade union.

The qualifying learner will be capable of:
  • Performing operational functions in a trade union.
  • Managing information in a trade union context.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations in a specific trade union. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

    Administrative skills include but are not limited to answering of telephones, filing, typing, storage, ordering stationery.
