PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard will be able to implement and apply passenger security assessment within any passenger transport environment and will be able to contribute to passenger safety and security. This unit standard will also enable persons to identify risks and threats which influence passengers and passenger services.

The qualifying learner will be capable of:
  • Observe persons and environments to identify potential threats.
  • Describing passenger assessment techniques.
  • Conducting a passenger assessment.

  • UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
    In this unit standard a port environment may refer to any one of the following maritime (sea) ports: aviation ports such as aerodromes and airports and road and rail ports.

  • An individual wishing to be assessed (including through RPL) against this Unit Standard may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant ETQA, or an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Anyone assessing a learner against this Unit Standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
