PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This Unit Standard is intended for learners who manage asset risk in insurance and other organisations. It will be useful for underwriters, risk managers, brokers and people in short term insurance.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Explaining what is meant by quality in engineering practice.
  • Explaining engineering risks associated with engineering practice failure.
  • Applying technical knowledge and skill in order to manage maintenance risk.
  • Applying technical knowledge and skill in order to manage construction risk.
  • Applying technical knowledge and skill in order o manage risk in operational processes.
