To ensure that the learner is able to receive the Rooibos material and identify the various characteristics that indicate the quality of the raw product according to the specific grading parameters.

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 1 
Show an understanding of the practices and the procedures that are used in the receiving of Rooibos material. 
OUTCOME RANGE 
The range includes but is not limited to: producer's delivery, batch ID / code number, weighing Mass bags, sampling, marking mass bags, documentation.

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
The reasons for allocating a unique batch ID / number for each delivery that is received are explained. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
The information that has to be captured, before the batch ID can be allocated, is detailed. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
The procedures for the marking of the mass bags, as per the company's SOPs are described. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
The procedures for the weighing and documentation of the mass bag weights, as per the company's SOPs are described. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5 
The reasons for the taking of samples of each producer's delivery are explained.

Demonstrate the sampling of the raw Rooibos for grading.
