    Explain, discuss and demonstrate the removal and fitting of an automobile battery. 
    OUTCOME RANGE 
    Aspects of the removal and fitting process include work procedures, personal protective equipment, automotive protection equipment, hand tools, work site preparation, manufacturer's specifications and warranties, battery selection (size, amp hour ratings, voltage).

  • Automobile batteries are removed and fitted safely according to worksite and manufacturer's procedures.
  • Testing procedure are carried out correctly, correct testing methods applied.
  • Charging is carried out in a safe manner.
  • Servicing is carried out in accordance to procedure.
  • Battery terminals and cables are correctly selected and fitted in a safe manner.
  • Relevant documentation is correctly filled in.
  • Correct battery are selected and fitted.
  • Protective equipment is correctly used.
  • Hand tools are selected and used correctly.
