PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
A person credited with this Unit Standard is able to demonstrate an understanding of the theory of transformation, the role of organisational change in South Africa, and the recognition of value systems and how such systems can play an important role in transformation in the country.

In particular, on completion of this Unit Standard, the learner is able to:
  • Recognise the importance of value systems within an organisation
  • Understand how proper value systems underpin transformation
  • Develop approaches and processes that establish the centrality of value systems in organisations
  • Explain the concepts and principles relating to Organisational Transformation and Change Management (OT&CM)

    Demonstrate the relationship between organisational profitability and values. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    Documented analytical data is investigated and the outcomes communicated to respective stakeholders in writing. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Models of the relationship between values and organisational profitability are examined and results are recorded in an appropriate format for decision-making purposes. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2 
    Demonstrate the relationship between organisational risk management and values. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    Models explaining the relationship between organisational risk management and values are examined and one model chosen for analysis to be done in an organization and its choice is justified in writing. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The value system of an organization is clarified through workshops facilitated with members of the organization and confirmed orally. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The model is used to investige the way an organization manages its risk and a report written in an appropriate format. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 3 
    Develop an organisational transformation framework.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The business rationale for transformation is established and an organisational plan is drafted and proposed in a presentation to management. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    An emotional process plan is established and a full project plan is developed for an organisation. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The framework is integrated into a change management process. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 4 
    Implement interventions enabling leadership to develop to maintain a high trust culture . 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    An explanation is given in writing of the relationship between high and low trust work environments and resource appropriation in an organization. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    An investigation is carried out to determine at what level the organization is at in terms of high versus low trust of its employees and stakeholders and a report written for future decision-making purposes. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Recommendations are made to management on how the organization can adopt a higher level of trust. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    Leadership development programmes are examined to determine relevance and recommendations proposed for creating high trust levels. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 5 
    Develop interventions to enable the successful delivery of the organisational transformation objectives.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    A report outlining discrepancies between organizational transformation objectives and the actual situation in an organization is tabled for use by management. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    A document outlining corrective actions is developed and submitted to key stakeholders for approval.

    Accreditation for this Unit Standard shall be obtained from the relevant Education and Training Quality Assurance Body, through summative and formative assessment by a registered assessor
  • Assessors must be registered as an Assessor with the relevant ETQA, or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Moderators must be registered as assessors with the relevant ETQA, or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
