The purpose of this qualification is to make research contributions and further advancements in the field of agricultural extension.

The qualifying learner will be competent to do specialized and advanced research independently and to apply extension research methods. Furthermore, the qualifying learner will be competent to interpret, analyse and evaluate abstract information.
